Melt My Heart!

This precious little boy just melts my heart!! As scared as I was at the thought of having a boy, this little boy has melted my heart and I can't imagine our lives without a boy period... much less our precious little boy!

Love the profile!

I don't know why but this one makes me giggle!!

Mid-Sneeze!

Chillin' on the ottoman (before he started crawling off)

Good Choices

This week Mackenzie has had some "issues" at school. Now I'm not one of those parents who thinks their kiddos are perfect and will never get in trouble for anything... However we were surprised by what she got in trouble for this week. Regardless of what she got in trouble for we are in the process of trying to correct her "issues" and encourage her making "Good Choices".

So in an effort to encourage her making "Good Choices" we made a chart that she will get to put stickers on for each day she gets a note home from her teacher that said she had a good day. After she gets so many stickers she'll get to pick on of her special prize tickets. (Which I have 3 days to make...). We're going to keep this going until we are consistently getting good reports again from her teachers. (We're not going to talk about the alternative, because we're hoping there will be very little need for that...)

My love for scrapbooking comes out in moments like this... Plus, I think if it's "cute" or looks "fun" then maybe Mackenzie will be more excited about putting stickers on it. And this is all about motivating her to make "good choices"!

I love my cricut! I got it for Christmas and have loved it! (Thanks convincing me Mom!) If I hadn't had a baby in February I bet I would have used it ALOT more! But as you can imagine, my "me" time has been severely limited! :) But oh so worth it!

We put it on the fridge so she has a constant reminder to make good choices.

Wooooooo Pig Sooie!

In honor of my Hogs and their amazing game against Bama I've decided to recap my favorite room in the house during halftime!

When Mackenzie was born we knew we would have decorated her nursery in Razorback stuff had she been a boy... Since she was a girl we just went with a couple of Razorback touches in her red lady bug room. When we found out our second crazy Kennebeck kiddo was going to be a boy we knew he'd have a Razorback nursery... We LOVE the way it turned out!

Excuse me while I go back to cheering on my Hogs!! I think today is the perfect day to send the Tide rolling down The Hill!!! Wooooo Pig Sooie!!!!

Smells Like Cheetos

One of the best things about babies is the "baby smell"! You expect that wonderful smell to be replaced by stinky diapers, spit up, formula, and even smeared baby food but you never expect that smell to replaced by the smell of Cheetos!

When Mackenzie was a baby they had these cool cheese crackers with the alphabet on them that were really good first finger foods. These days they don't have those any more... They have been replaced by the "Lil Crunchies", and the cheddar flavor smells EXACTLY like cheetos!

These pics were in the early days of Lil Crunchies... when he still wasn't quite sure about them. Believe me that skeptical look is long gone!

Can you leave me alone with my food please?

Is she ever going to get that camera out of my face?

Don't let this look fool you... It's quickly followed by this face...

Me Likey!!

So now after dinner most nights we trade the "baby smell" for the smell of Cheetos... It may not be that cherished smell but at least its a memory! :)

Out of the mouths of babes

Last weekend Mackenzie had a friend over to play for awhile. I went to check on them one time and happened to overhear part of their conversation and suddenly had an idea for a great post!

(If you've never listened to the conversation of 2 4 year old girls you're missing out on some cheap entertainment!!)

"I'm gonna be a bunny." "Oh yeah! You be a bunny and I'll be your Mom!"

"I'm going to fix my hair." "You can have the whole place to yourself!"

"Oh yeah, Duh!" "Don't say that to you Mom!"

"Here are your markers and here are your silly bands. And if you get in trouble, put them in here" (Wonder where she came up with that idea... Hmmm, maybe somebody has been getting in trouble with their silly bands???? Surely not my daughter!)

"Put your stuff in your cubby. Are you staying for daycare? No, you're only staying to 1:00, because your Mom is picking yup up." (Any guesses what they were playing??)

"Lucifer! Lucifer! BumBumBumBum Glass Slipper! Glass Slipper! BumBumBumBum" (pretending to read Cinderella... I'll admit I was wondering what in the world! When I first heard this conversation... Ha!)

"I need a drink." "Here you go!" "Thank You!" "But don't spill it!" (wonder how many times she's hear that...)

"I'm gonna sleep in here with you because it's (her tent) a kid one and a grown up one. Oh wait! I need to eat. I'll keep an eye on you, I can't sleep yet."

"Slithering"

I heard the funniest term today to describe what Dylan does these days... We've always called it "Army Crawling" but today I heard it referred to as "Slithering". I thought it was hilarious!! And soooo very true! In order to exemplify how true it was I decided to try to get a video of him doing it tonight. Once you see it, you'll know what I'm talking about...

My Daughter

10 min after she got up...

I was still asleep when you got up.

You were letting me sleep.

Because I needed more energy.

(Me: energy for what?)

For the picnic. (Company picnic today)

Randomness courtesy of my daughter. (wonder where she gets it from??)

First Homework

Now that my big girl is in 4 yr old preschool she gets "homework" occasionally. Her homework is to practice writing her name. It gets her ready for "real" homework next year and also helps her practice her name at the same time. (With a name like hers, she needs all the practice she can get! Ha!) It's really laid back, she writes her name 2 or 3 times and then turns it in whenever she finishes it.

She brought it home, and was so excited that she wanted to make sure she did it that night so she could take it back to Ms. Donna the next day!

Does she look proud or what??

The first time I talked her thru each letter... start at the green line and draw your circle to the dotted line, etc. The 2nd one I let her do more on her own. The last one she did totally by herself. You can see the progession as she goes thru, but what do you expect, she's 4? She's doing good for tracing her name last year and writing it but not on lines this summer. This Mommy is proud!

New Obsession

Oh my goodness!! I have a new obsession!!

(Excuse the crazy lighting...)

TOMS SHOES!!!!

My brother has been a Toms fan for awhile now... and I'll admit, I used to make fun of him for liking them! Well lately I've been thinking I might like some. And THEN this weekend on the way to the game, I saw several pairs of Toms in my favorite color... RAZORBACK RED!! Brian told me to go buy some... Usually I would put off getting them and end up talking myself out of getting them because I'm cheap and I rarely buy anything for myself. However, this time I jumped on it before I could talk myself out of it and bought them yesterday! And guess what... I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!! Toms are now going to be my flip-flops of cold weather! For those of you who know me, you know I LOVE flip flops and start wearing them as soon as the weather is warm... even if there is a warm spell in February! I can't wait until Friday so I can wear them to work, dang business attire the rest of the week!

Again, I'm glad I didn't talk myself out of them this time! (Brian was surprised I bought them so quickly... Ha!) And I'm already trying to figure out how to get another pair...

In case you aren't familiar with Toms, attached is a link to their website. They aren't just cool shoes, they have a really cool background and story to go along with them. How can you resist with their "One for One"  movement? Pairs of shoes for children in need?? Come on!!

He's Mobile!

Ladies and Gentlemen.... Dylan is mobile!

He still prefers to dig in his toes and zoom along instead of getting on all fours and crawling, but I'm sure he'll decide that's cool before to long too. Watch out is all I have to say... he's going everywhere!

I'll admit, tonight as I was getting ready to pull dinner from the oven I had to make sure there weren't "pieces" on the floor before I set him down. Can you say it was time to sweep the floor?

Check out this video of my baby boy. He gets distracted by football on TV before he gets moving... but don't worry that made his Daddy proud! Ha!

Football, Friends, and Food

What can be better than those three things??? Only when they are all three combined!

One of our favorite times of year is here!! COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!  And our favorite team? You guessed it! Our Arkansas Razorbacks!! Woo Pig Sooie! In honor of our fave Hogs season opener on Saturday we had some friends over and grilled some burger and hot dogs. So like I said what could be better?

We have so few pics of all 4 of us as a family so I wanted a pic of us all decked out in our Razorback finery!

Here are pics of our friends that came over that night. (I made the pics small so they don't kill me if they hate the pics...) Mary, Lottie, Nate & future Baby D on the left. Luke, Chloe, & Jenny are on the right.

Chloe and Dylan playing together, they were obsessed with each other and from what I hear Chloe cried when they went home... we think its because she missed her boyfriend! :)

I would have loved pics of Lottie and Mackenzie playing, but that just wasn't happening! They wouldn't stop for pics or slow down long enough for me to sneak one in. Oh well...

Oh yeah I remember what could be better... a 44-3 win! Woo Pig Sooie!!

Cherish the Moments

In light of my recent post...

I stood and snuggled and rocked this one until my back started cramping and my arms went to sleep.(Granted with a 21 lb 8 oz 6 1/2 mo old it didn't take too long) I snuggled his sweet little baby cheeks and cherished his hand thrown up on my shoulder.

And in the spirit of the same post, I didn't punish this one when I went into her room and found her "painting" with color wonder stuff when she was supposed to be going to sleep.

I keep trying to remind myself, "I'm gonna miss this!" Sniff! Sniff!

P.S. And yes those are matching Razorback pj's I found at WM tonight! Woo Pig Sooie!!

Two Teethers

I was finally able tonight to get good pictures of Dylan and his two teeth! Here are some of my faves!

I just thought this one was too cute not to include even though he's not showing teeth!
