Day 5 - Hollywood Studios

We spent the 5th day of our Disney whirlwind tour at Hollywood Studios (formerly known as MGM). The Rogers had been there the day before and warned us that we wanted to get a FastPass for the new ToyStory ride ASAP, so as soon as we got there the boys sprinted to get FastPasses and we headed to another ride to meet them. We had an hr until our FastPasses were good so we went and rode a couple of adult rides first, Rockin' Roller Coaster & Tower of Terror. After that we went to ride the Toy Story Mania ride and encountered the 2nd biggest hit of the entire trip! All 3 kids LOVED it!! You ride around in little cars and aim at targets and "shoot" your cannon/gun thingy. Mackenzie LOVED it and wanted to do it again IMMEDIATELY. Well unfortunately for her we didn't. We got FastPasses as soon as we got off the ride, and had to wait until 6:15 that night... Did I mention it was like 10:15 in the morning??? But it was well worth it and gave the kids something to look forward too.

We got to see some of the Playhouse Disney characters... Mackenzie was thrilled to see Annie and Leo, but not so much with JoJo & Goliath... We waited in line only for her to change her mind. We also saw Handy Manny and Quincy but she decided it wasn't worth standing in line for.
I tried to get her to look at me while playing with Rocket, but no such luck...
Mackie hugging Leo
Annie showing Mackenzie that she has pigtails too! Too cute!
Not so thrilled about meeting JoJo & Goliath after waiting in line.
OR it could have been that the worse meltdowns in the entire trip were about to ensue for both girls. By far the worst day for meltdowns for the girls but also the most rewarding of days too! Their excitement that day was the greatest!! We took them to see the Little Mermaid show (no pics in there...) While the boys went with Mitchell to ride a Star Wars ride, we took the girls to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground, and the girls had a good time... on what they could play on. Most of the stuff was too big for them to go running around in, but they had a blast on the slides and Mackenzie LOVED the little toadstool things that played music when they stepped on them.
After that we went to lunch at the 50's Prime Time Cafe, it was almost 3 by the time we got our food... all this to explain how it was possible for my child to fall asleep in mid-french fry chew! NO LIE! Brian took a pic, sorry it was blurry! Like I said Brian took it. Ha!

I had planned for her to sleep awhile after that, but no such luck, when I was sitting by the stroller trying to let her get a good sleep before the Indiana Jones show started, she woke up. I tried to go to the show, but she FREAKED out! So we spent the show walking around and looking in shops. After that we took them to the Beauty and the Beast show and she LOVED it! She kept telling me to take a picture of that and take a picture of this.

One thing we definitely couldn't miss was meeting Woody and Buzz! All of the kids LOVE Toy Story and at the time it was one of Mackenzie's newest obsessions. She was so excited waiting in line (as you can tell from the pics), but when we got there she changed her mind and was NOT wanting to see them. I was bummed, but oh well she's 2 what can you expect?

Look at this cute pose Heather got her to do!

We had been trying to catch a Playhouse Disney show all day and couldn't seem to catch it at the right time, well we knew when we went to see Woody and Buzz that the last one started at 6, so we LITERALLY grabbed the strollers and ran across the park and got there at 6:01. Luckily for us they let us go in thru a back door and watch the show. It was the biggest hit of the entire trip!! They got to see pieces of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, My Friends Tigger & Pooh & Little Einsteins acted out by puppets. All 3 kids had a good time, but you could tell the girls were in heaven! It was the best thing to watch them so excited and definitely worth the run across the park!
